Welcome to my website. I have divided the site into two distinct sections: classical guitars and steel string. Once you have entered one of these sections it is pretty much self-contained. If you want to go to the other, return to the home page.

2nd November 2010
I will be exhibiting at Guitar Nation at the Olympia, Earl's Court, London on 13th and 14th November. I'll be at booth 306. Come and say hello.

I've just finished an archtop mandolin - my first instrument with carved plates and f-holes. It's for Cathy Lucas of Fanfarlo. She's delighted with it and will be using it on their forthcoming album.

4th August 2010
The Luthiers' Barbecue was a great success and we hope to be putting them on as a regular event.

I'm getting to the polishing stage on a Santos classical with Venetian cutaway with a stunning set of Brazilian rosewood back and sides which has a pronounced curly figure.

The guitar built for the Sonic Sitka Project is now finished and can be seen here
On 25th July half a dozen of us luthiers will be putting on a luthiers' barbecue in Finsbury Park, North London. We will be showing our latest offerings and the intimate setting - in a converted factory, now a house - will allow you to get up close and personal with the instruments.
The makers present
will be:
Adrian Lucas, Nigel Forster, Stephen Sedgewick, Dennis Czech (dealer
of handmade acoustics) , Pete Beer , David Anthony Reid
A few of us will entertain you with demos of various aspects of lutherie, and
it'll be a great chance to get your hands on some first class instruments. Come
along and play some tunes!
The address is 16 Everleigh st, Finsbury Park, London N4 3AE
There is free parking in the area on a Sunday and the nearest tube is Finsbury
Park, Wells terrace exit (5 mins)

Stamford Guitar Festival on Saturday 12th June and Southwell Folk Festival on Sunday 13th June
21st May 2010
I'm featured in the June issue of Acoustic magazine in their series on UK luthiers.

I'll be exhibiting some guitars at the Stamford Guitar Festival at the Stamford Arts Centre, Stamford, England on 12th and 13th June.
26th March 2010
I have just begun making a guitar for Denis Merril's Sonic Sitka Project. Denis acquired a length of a sitka spruce trunk and had it converted into around 80 soundboards. Denis has provided identical sitka spruce soundboards, all from the same length of trunk to around 70 luthiers far and wide to compare the sonic results from using the same wood in a variety of acoustic guitar contexts. Below is the wood for my guitar. From left to right: English yew for the back, Indian rosewood for the bridge, Macassar ebony for the fingerboard, English yew for the sides, the sitka soundboard from Denis and Honduras mahogany for the neck. The design will be a modification of my Arbour shape.

6th January 2010

28th August 2009
I had a great time at the Healdsburg Guitar Festival with a lot of interest in my guitars. I've placed guitars with a couple of dealers in California: steel strings with Eric Schoenberg in Tiburon and classicals with Dan Zeff in Chatsworth.

I have just about completed a wedge body arbour in European spruce and yew which I'm very pleased with. Photos soon.
