A.J.Lucas
luthier
the Santos
The Santos model's body shape is derived from the classic curves of the legendary Spanish luthier Santos Hernandez. Inside, the guitar shares the same innovative strutting pattern as the radial guitar. This is a hybrid of traditional fan strutting and radial strutting, providing firmness and clarity across the whole range of the instrument. I generally make two small ports in the sides either side of the heel. This allows the guitar to breathe with a more open and expansive sound. This model is also available with a cutaway (right) giving improved access to the upper frets without compromising the sound. |
